Product Description

INTRODUCTION

STYCCOBOND F30 is a synthetic rubber/resin adhesive for seaming the edges of carpets to prevent fibre loss along the seams.

REQUIRES F30 DISPENSER BOTTLE SOLD SEPERATELY

See the F. Ball Recommended Adhesives Guide for details of specific floorcoverings.

PREPARATION

Ensure that carpet seam edges are cut cleanly, fit neatly together and that the edges are free from loose fibres.
Pour STYCCOBOND F30 adhesive into the dispenser bottle (sold separately) prior to use. Cut the top off the nozzle using a sharp knife and gently squeeze the bottle to extrude a bead of adhesive. When not in use place the cap over the nozzle to prevent the adhesive from drying out.

DO NOT store the adhesive for long periods in the dispenser bottle.

ADHESIVE APPLICATION

Compression Joint

Overlap two adjacent pre-trimmed lengths of carpet by approximately 3mm. Fold back both edges by half the width of the carpet then apply the recommended adhesive.
Lay one section of carpet applying pressure to ensure overall contact with the adhesive then apply a continuous bead of STYCCOBOND F30 to the primary backing along the length of the seam edge. Immediately re-lay the adjacent section of carpet. Starting at the centre gently feed the edge into the seaming adhesive taking care

to ensure the sealer does not squeeze up onto the carpet fibres. Any fullness of carpet should be dissipated away from the seam by applying pressure with the STYCCOBOND GLYDA.

Butt Joint

Form a butt joint with the secondary backed carpet then carefully fold back both edges half the width of the carpet and apply the recommended adhesive.
Lay one section of carpet applying pressure to ensure overall contact with the adhesive then apply a bead of STYCCOBOND F30 to the backing along the length of the seam. Immediately re-lay the adjacent section of carpet carefully feeding the edge into the seaming adhesive taking care to ensure the sealer does not squeeze up onto the carpet fibres.

PREC AU TIONS

Remove any surplus adhesive from the carpet fibres whilst still wet using F. Ball STYCCOWIPES. Pour any unused adhesive in the dispenser bottle back into the adhesive tin; do not store STYCCOBOND F30 in the polythene dispenser.
